The first "insider" stock to buy is Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC), one of the leading internet security providers in the world.
Symantec makes a wide range of products that help individuals and businesses keep their computers and mobile devices safe from viruses and malware. The stock recently dropped sharply after the company fell short of analysts' quarterly earnings expectations, but CEO Stephen Bennett clearly disagrees with the market's opinion of the company's prospects. He got out his checkbook and added 1,000,000 shares of stock for a total cost of more than $2.2 million. He now owns 488,000 shares of Symantec stock and clearly has high expectations for the future of Symantec's stock price.

It is always interesting to see a battle that involves tech giants because of the strategies that play out on the field are unimaginably astute. Facebook and Google (GOOG) (GOOGL), are two big names in the field of online advertising that aim to offer best possible products to its advertisers. In one such attempt, Facebook has officially announced that it will track the user behaviour via the ikebutton in order to serve better targeted ads. Till now, Facebook had been collecting and using data about users on its site using the ikebutton but now it will expand this mechanism to any other website having the ikebutton.

The Russell 1000 growth index is chock full of big tech companies like Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), Verizon Communications (VZ) and Google (GOOG).The big difference now is that these types of stocks actually make oodles of money and trade at (more) reasonable valuations.

Obviously this is not lost on Time, which is seeking to get in on this revenue stream. With revenue down by over half in the last decade, newspapers certainly adopted a front-page ad strategy to survive. Time posted flat revenues of $390 million in the first quarter and has the fight all print mediums face with growing online news competition. In contrast Google (NASDAQ: GOOG ) ot classified as a news organization in the Pew study ffers news coverage and the platform that leads the way to many online news sites. Google dwarfs Time with $15.4 billion in first quarter gross revenue.

You might not have guessed it, but Google's (NASDAQ: GOOG ) Chromebooks are a hit after all.
There hasn't historically been a lot of readily available data on Chromebook shipments, as Google doesn't disclose them nor do OEMs. Only recently did Chrome OS show up in Internet usage statistics from Net Market Share -- with a measly 0.02%. Chromebooks are the new netbooks, and netbooks are already on their deathbed thanks to low-cost tablets, nearly all of which run Android.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By WWW.DAILYFINANCE.COM]
CYNK Technology (CYNK), the mysterious over-the-counter stock that at one point broke a $6 billion market cap, dropped roughly 80 percent in its first trades after a Securities and Exchange Commission halt. The SEC halted CYNK for two weeks following a massive rise in the stock's value -- it had been worth only a few cents per share in June, but it jumped above $21 on July 10. The Belize-based CYNK Technology supposedly operates a social networking site, but filings indicate it only has one employee and virtually no assets. Experts told CNBC the week of the SEC halt that they expected CYNK to fall precipitously after reopening, and its first day of trading is proving those predictions correct. When it was halted, the stock was worth just less than $14 per share, and is now below $3 a share after briefly hovering around $5 earlier Friday morning. An OTC Markets spokeswoman told Reuters that CYNK's shares were not trading on its platform, but were occurring over the phone. Earlier this week Reuters reported that OTC's CEO did not expect CYNK to trade on its platform at all after reopening, as no brokerages would file the required paperwork for the stock to trade on their exchanges. An SEC spokesman said that the organization cannot comment on the status of a company after a suspension period ends, citing an online explanation of the process. That document notes that broker-dealers may not solicit investors to trade the previously suspended OTC stock until they satisfy several regulatory requirements. The SEC warned, however, that "unsolicited" trading may occur after a reopening -- as CYNK is now seeing -- but "even though such trading is allowed, it can be very risky for investors without current and reliable information about the company."

While the ongoing implosion of crude oil prices has put high-profile names like Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) and Linn Energy LLC (NASDAQ:LINE) in the limelight - and the hot seat - all the noise surrounding those and other names may have distracted investors from looking at the oil rout in an opportunistic light rather than through the panic-colored glasses that have proven so damaging to the likes of LINE and CHK. Rather than fret over how difficult life was going to be for Linn Energy, Chesapeake Energy, and all their peers now that the price of oil was at or below the cost of drilling for it, investors should have been looking at companies that make drilling for oil cheaper and more cost-effective. Mid cap oil services stocks Dresser-Rand Group Inc (NYSE: DRC) andFlowserve Corp (NYSE: FLS) and small cap Propell Technologies Group Inc (OTCBB: PROP) are all direct or indirect players in the enhanced oil recovery (EOR) sector among other niches.
