Spotting bubbles is hard but not impossible.
Take a look at this chart of the Nikkei (NIKKEIINDICES: ^NI225 ) , the principal stock index in Japan. As you can see, it shot up by more than 80% in a period of only six months.
It should go without saying that corporate fundamentals had little to do with this trend; it was instead the result of politics. In the middle of last December, Shinzo Abe, president of the Liberal Democratic Party, secured a landslide victory to become Prime Minster. He did so by promising to get the country's economy up and running for the first time since its own massive housing bubble burst in the early 1990s.
Since the election, the Japanese government has set out to make good on Abe's promise. Among other things, its central bank has committed itself to achieving a 2% rate of inflation, driving down the exchange rate of the yen, and implementing a radical program of quantitative easing. But one of the side effects of these policies has been to dramatically inflate the value of equities.

Another under-$10 name that's quickly moving within range of triggering a big breakout trade is Velti (VELT), which provides mobile marketing and advertising technology solutions that enable brands, advertising agencies, and mobile operators to implement interactive and measurable campaigns by communicating with and engaging consumers via their mobile devices. This stock has been destroyed by the bears so far in 2013, with shares off sharply by 91%.
If you take a look at the chart for Velti, you'll notice that this stock recently gapped down big from over $1 a share to 33 cents per share with monster downside volume. Following that gap down, shares of VELT have started to consolidate and move sideways between 33 cents per share on the downside and 44 cents per share on the upside. Shares of VELT are spiking sharply higher on Thursday above some near-term support at 35 cents per share. That move is pushing this stock within range of triggering a big breakout trade above the upper-end of its recent sideways trading chart pattern.
Market players should now look for long-biased trades in VELT if it manages to break out above some near-term overhead resistance at 44 cents per share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above that level with volume that hits near or above its three-month average action of 2.02 million shares. If that breakout triggers soon, then VELT could easily explode higher and potentially re-test its gap down day high from August at 66 cents per share.
Traders can look to buy VELT off weakness to anticipate that breakout and simply use a stop that sits right below some key near-term support levels at 35 cents to 33 cents per share. One can also buy VELT off strength once it clears 44 cents per share with volume and then simply use a stop that sits a comfortable percentage from your entry point.

Another under-$10 biopharmaceutical player that's starting to move within range of triggering a big breakout trade is Aastrom Biosciences (ASTM), which is a regenerative medicine company focused on the development of cell therapies to repair or regenerate damaged or diseased tissues. This stock has trended modestly lower over the last three months, with shares off by 4.9%.
If you take a look at the chart for Aastrom Biosciences, you'll notice that this stock just recently formed a double bottom chart pattern at $3.16 to $3.14 a share over the last month and change. Following that bottom, shares of ASTM have started to spike higher and move back above its 50-day moving average of $3.58 a share. That move is quickly pushing shares of ASTM within range of triggering a big breakout trade.
Market players should now look for long-biased trades in ASTM if it manages to break out above some near-term overhead resistance at $4.50 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above that level with volume that hits near or above its three-month average action of 140,540 shares. If that breakout hits soon, then ASTM will set up to re-test or possibly take out its next major overhead resistance levels at $6.25 to $6.80 a share. Any high-volume move above those levels will then give ASTM a chance to re-fill some of its previous gap-down-zone from last August that started at $12 a share.
Traders can look to buy ASTM off any weakness to anticipate that breakout and simply use a stop that sits right below its 50-day moving average of $3.58 a share. One can also buy ASTM off strength once it starts to clear $4.50 a share with volume and then simply use a stop that sits a comfortable percentage from your entry point.

The only close competitor to Snapdragon 800 is NVIDIA(NVDA)'s fourth generation Tegra chips, Tegra 4i, which are expected to be launched in the beginning of next year, and Broadcom (BRCM) recently launched BCM21892. The Tegra 4i will be half the size of Snapdragon 800 processor and BCM21892 is currently the smallest LTE 4G enabled chip in the industry. The smaller size of the chips makes them cheaper to produce and more energy efficient. However, Qualcomm earlier launch of its Snapdragon 800 processor with an LTE dvanced feature places it in an advantageous position, as there is no other competing product.
